2008 Program

Music City Legend Drum and Bugle Corps, Tennessee’s first and largest "all-age" drum and bugle corps, was founded in 2003. The corps first performed in 2004 as a 21-member "Minicorps", placing 5th at the DCA Mini-corps Championship. The following year, the corps advanced to field competition with nearly 60 members and placed 4th at the DCA Class "A" Championship, winning the High Brass award. "MCL" made the big leap into Open Class competition in 2006 and earned full membership in DCA. The Nashville-based corps completed its most successful season last year with an 11th place performance in Open Class at the DCA World Championship, achieving its highest score and placement ever at that event.

Music City LegendM continues to attract its membership from across Tennessee and other neighboring (and some not-so-neighboring) states. Truly an "all-age" corps, its members continue to range in age from "mid-teen to middle age".

Returning to the corps as Program Director for 2008, Brass Arranger and Contrabass Soloist Joe Murphy, along with the corps’ new Visual Designer Kenneth Calhoun and new Associate Program Director Terry Jolley have developed this year’s program, They’re Playing Our Song.

Under new Field Commander Ashley Nilles, Music City Legend presents another "characterized" story - the life of a boy and a girl who experience that "special moment" when their eyes meet for the first time on their college campus, fall in love, mature together enduring the everyday trials and tribulations of every couple’s life, and ultimately grow old together, still very much in love. Their story is told in music, motion, emotion, -- and in reverse!

Music City Legend has distinguished itself as a "crowd pleaser" by developing an original, family-friendly musical and visual entertainment package each season. Music City Legend continues this tradition in 2008 by playing YOUR song, and hopes you enjoy their performance.
